Friends and Family of Mount Zion 2nd Baptist Church, the Daniel Fast is a 21-day spiritual journey that focuses on prayer, fasting, and seeking God's guidance. Below is a 21-day prayer focus with scriptures, designed to deepen your relationship with God and align your heart with His will.
Fast Forward Suggestions:
1. Fruits, Vegetables and Water Only (This option includes Beans and Potatoes)
2. No Social Media
3. No Sweets, Bread, Fried Foods and/or Coffee
4. No Fast Food or Restaurants
Day 1: Surrender to God’s Will
Focus: Surrendering yourself completely to God’s will, allowing Him to guide you.
Scripture: Romans 12:1-2
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
Day 2: Seek God’s Kingdom First
Focus: Prioritize God’s Kingdom and righteousness above all else.
Scripture: Matthew 6:33
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Day 3: Repentance and Purification
Focus: Repentance for sin and purification of the heart.
Scripture: Psalm 51:10
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
Day 4: Faith and Trust in God
Focus: Trusting in God’s faithfulness and sovereignty.
Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Day 5: God’s Guidance and Wisdom
Focus: Seeking wisdom and direction for your life.

Day 6: Strength to Overcome Temptation
Focus: Praying for strength to resist temptation and walk in purity.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
Day 7: Spiritual Growth and Fruitfulness
Focus: Praying for growth in the fruit of the Spirit and spiritual maturity.

Day 8: Protection and Deliverance
Focus: Praying for God’s protection and deliverance from evil.

Day 9: Healing and Restoration
Focus: Praying for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord.”
Day 10: Love for Others
Focus: Cultivating God’s love for others, especially those who may be difficult to love.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
Day 11: Overcoming Doubt and Fear
Focus: Replacing doubt and fear with faith and courage in God’s promises.

Day 12: Prayer for Family and Relationships
Focus: Praying for healing, unity, and strength in family and relationships.

Day 13: Financial Provision and Blessing

Day 17: Boldness in Evangelism
Focus: Praying for boldness to share your faith and reach others with the Gospel.

“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
Day 18: Restoring Joy and Peace
Focus: Asking God to restore joy and peace in your life, especially in times of trial.

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Day 19: Perseverance and Endurance
Focus: Praying for strength to endure through trials and remain faithful to God.

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
Day 20: Thanksgiving and Praise
Focus: Offering heartfelt thanksgiving and praise for all that God has done.

Day 21: Renewed Vision and Purpose
Focus: Praying for a renewed vision and purpose, and aligning with God’s divine calling.
